コンセプト concept

　病院に隣接するこの建物は，宿泊室５室と２つの共用スペースで構成されており，病気の子を持つ家族の心身の休憩の場であり，入院している子供の一時の「外泊」の場であり，遠方から週末に訪ねてくる親兄弟の宿泊の場でもある．グループホームのように，個室とパブリックスペースの境界性を薄くするため，乳白ガラスのスクリーンの境界面に「光」を落して，間仕切りの重い存在感を消し去ろうとしている．このように変化に富んだ「光」を体験することによって，もう一度，家族の力によって病いに立ち向う勇気を取り戻す，そんな「光の空間」をつくることがテーマであった．

　This architecture, located next to the hospital, consists of five private rooms and two common spaces. These facilities can be used for short rests by parents of sick children, for temporary family stays by hospitalized children, and for overnight stays by families making weekend visits from remote areas. As is in the Group Home, the boundaries between the private and public spaces are softened using light-reflective milk white glass screens. Unlike ordinary partitions, the glass screens do not create a heavy impression. The theme of the architecture was to create a "space full of light" that allows patients to enjoy variations of light and gives them courage to overcome their illnesses with support from their families.
