2004年の新潟県中越地震で被災地となった、新潟県長岡市の中心市街地に位置する中学校の建て替えである。多雪地帯であるが耐雪型屋根とし、大きな中庭を設け、環状動線を採用して教科教室型としている。上下動の中心となる大階段にメディアセンター図書室・コンピュータ室を隣接させ、空間の中心をつくり出している。災害時には避難所として機能できるよう、体育館や半外部空間ビッグルーフなど必要諸施設をまとめる工夫もなされている。 | |||
This project involved the rebuilding of a junior high school in central Nagaoka,Niigata Prefecture,which was heavily affected by the 2004 Niigata Chuetsu earthquake. Architects designed a snow-resistant roof suitable for the region,which receives heavy snowfall. In their plan,different classrooms are situated around a large,central courtyard in a ring configuration. Architects situated the media center library and computer room next to the main staircase-the primary means of vertical circulation-which gives the school a strong sense of center. Architects grouped the gym,the "Big Roof" semi-enclosed space, and other key facilities together in one area. which will help the school function as an emergency evacuation area should another disaster occur. | |||
